Laser Doppler Vibrometers (LDV) using classic Helium-Neon (HeNe) laser sources have been a beneficial tool in non-contact vibration measurements for many years. The Vector series has brought laser vibrometry with HeNe-lasers to its perfection.
The vibrometer is operated with a laser wavelength of 633 nm and enables the non-contact measurement of vibrations between 0 and 24 MHz. Vibration characteristics of microscopic up to macroscopic-scaled structures are determined with the highest accuracy and precision.
The Vector is the standard vibrometer for a wide variety of vibration measurement problems. It is particularly suited for measurements on reflecting surfaces or through water as well as in applications where the smallest possible size of the measuring point is of critical importance. Through the use of different optical systems and decoders for velocity, displacement or acceleration, the Vector units can be customized for the measurement task at hand in a matter of minutes.
The measuring signals are simultaneously output in digital form via GBit Ethernet and in analog form via BNC connectors with up to 160 Msamples/s, enabling the vibrometer to be read out and controlled via Ethernet while sending data to analog data acquisition systems at the same time.

Laser source, optics, interferometer, signal processing, and arbitrary signal generator are combined in one box, powered by 12 V DC. Optomet LDV are the perfect all-in-one measurement solution that can even be used with commercially available powerbanks for mobile operation.
The vibrometer and the measurement software OptoGUI are designed for easy and intuitive use. OptoGUI offers a simple and lucid user interface to guide the user through the measurement. Even users new to vibrometry will obtain precise vibration data in no time.
Measurement data are processed by an integrated FPGA and digitally transmitted via Gigabit Ethernet. Data processing is carried out with a sampling rate of 160 MS/s with a data resolution of up to 32-Bit, which translates to a dynamic range of 220 dB.
Additionally, all vibrometer, measurement, and signal generator settings can be remotely controlled via Ethernet. Measurement data can be simultaneously read out via the Ethernet connection and analog BNC connectors.

A wide variety of high-performance real-time decoders are available for the evaluation of the interferometric measuring signals. The OptoMET UltraDSP technology enables the measurement of frequencies up to 10 MHz and vibrational velocities up to 10 m/s with the Vector Series, displacements can be resolved to less than 100 fm. All vibrometers incorporate a velocity decoder, and displacement and acceleration decoders are optionally available. Numerous measuring ranges per decoder ensure that measurements can always be performed with the optimum sensitivity.
Decoders can be easily retrofitted or upgraded. Start with a basic system and adapt the capabilities of the measuring instrument as required. Several lenses are available which are optimized for the Vector-Series. Choose the right optical system based on working distance, reflectivity of the surface to be measured or size of the focus point. The lenses are easily exchangeable due to a bayonet lock as on single-lens reflex cameras.
