At the Automotive Testing Expo China 2025 (August 27–29, Shanghai), Optomet presented advanced laser vibrometry for vibroacoustic analysis in the automotive sector. 

Highlights included full-field visualization of body vibrations and 3D brake disc analysis with 3D-Laser vibrometers – enabling new insights for NVH testing, modal analysis, and material research.

At the Automotive Testing Expo China 2025, Optomet showcased innovative solutions for vibration analysis in the automotive sector.

SMART 3D Scanning for Complex Automotive Structures

The SMART 3D Scanning Vibrometer measures vibrations in all three spatial directions (x, y, z) simultaneously, delivering complete vector data. This allows detailed NVH testing and modal analysis, making complex motion patterns visible that remain hidden in conventional one-dimensional measurements.

In the live demonstration, a brake disc was analyzed using the SMART 3D Scanning setup with three synchronized vibrometers. The system captured the dynamic behavior of the disc under excitation, visualizing resonance modes and vibration patterns in full detail. This data provides valuable insights for optimizing brake performance and reducing NVH issues such as brake squeal.
