Digital Fiber-coupled SWIR Laser Vibrometer: Experience true flexibility to meet your exact needs.
The Optomet Fiber series is a further development of the Nova series, which combines the superior performance of SWIR (short-wavelength infrared) laser vibrometry with the flexibility of compact optical fiber-coupled heads.
Compact and flexible measurement heads
Small and compact optical heads make the system suitable for measurements in confined spaces and simplify handling considerably, especially when the heads have to be repositioned frequently. Variants with a built-in camera make it easier to define the measuring point. Heads are available for long distances and tiny heads are offered for extremely confined spaces.
Challenging environmental conditions
The separation of the optical head from the vibrometer provides customers a flexible solution to challenging measurement environments and speciality applications without the need for separate vibrometers for each scenario.
Several heads on one vibrometer
An optical switch enables the connection of several optical heads to one instrument in order to monitor several measuring points with a single vibrometer. The switch and the selection of the active channel are controlled via Ethernet.

A wide variety of high-performance real-time decoders are available for the evaluation of the interferometric measuring signals. The Optomet UltraDSP technology enables the measurement of frequencies up to 25 MHz and vibrational velocities up to 25 m/s with the Fiber-Series, displacements can be resolved to less than 100 fm. All vibrometers incorporate a velocity decoder, and displacement and acceleration decoders are optionally available. Numerous measuring ranges per decoder ensure that measurements can always be performed with the optimum sensitivity.
Decoders can be easily retrofitted or upgraded. Start with a basic system and adapt the capabilities of the measuring instrument as required. This requires no return of the instrument to the factory and no waiting times for your production or research project. The table below provides an overview of the configuration options. We will also be happy to assist you in the selection of the best decoder for your measuring task.
